The History of DKNY Perfume

scentsationalperfumes,Donna Faske was born on October 2nd 1948 in Queens in New York an unknown quantity who later became a global star. Donna first entered the world of fashion at an extremely young age after dropping out of school to sell clothes at a local boutique. Endowed with an innate knack for design she was spotted at the age of 20 by industry legend Anne Klein. Working for the house of Klein Donna’s skills flourished and by marrying boutique owner Mark Karen she became the now widely recognised Donna Karen.
Whilst still at Klein Donna Karen was approached by Takihyo, Klein’s Japanese textile conglomerate owners with the offer of branching out on her own. Donna was sceptical but was encouraged by new sculptor husband Mark Weiss. Both Karen and Weiss became co chief executives of the new brand Donna Karen New York also known as DKNY. The brands collections were well received and made DKNY a household name.
Capitalising on DKNY’s huge fashion success the brand took the decision to branch out into other markets, namely perfume, accessories and bed linen.

DKNY Perfume saw its debut in the self named and monumental fragrance Donna Karen New York, the picture of femininity this stylishly packaged gem was loved and still is lived by many. In 1994 DKNY Cashmere Mist was the second offering from the prestigious perfumery combining blends of patchouli, jasmine and heliotrope to create an incredibly sexy, spicy and smoky scent. Black Cashmere was the next offering from DKNY seeing a twist on the original cashmere aroma remaining with key notes of patchouli and Jasmine.
2004 saw the launch of two perfumes from the expanding perfume house. DKNY Be delicious has rapidly become one of the most recognised perfumes around and by far the most famous of the DKNY range. A sweet and fruit fragrance and totally delicious aroma many adaptations of the Be Delicious fragrance have been launched by the brand including Be Delicious Red, Be Delicious By Night, Pop Art and Blossom. Some of the Be Delicious range was released as limited editions however their popularity has meant that they have continued to be sold.

Summer 2010 is the latest perfume to be released and offers a new fresh fragrance with blends of violet, cucumber, grapefruit and woods.
